Profile
MIDC was incorporated under the Companies Act 1956 in the year 1971. It is a Government of Meghalaya undertaking. The Headquarter is located at Upland Road, Laitumkhrah, Shillong – 793003. It is operational in 3 (Three) Branch Districts of Meghalaya – Tura (West Garo Hills), Jowai (West Jaintia Hills) and Nongstoin (West Khasi Hills). Since its inception, the following are the main focus areas in developing industrial ventures in the state:
Main Objectives
- To promote, establish and execute industries, projects or enterprises.
- To promote and operate schemes for industrial development of Meghalaya.
- To assist and finance any industrial undertaking of any size.
- To promote and establish companies and associations.
- To procure capital, machinery, equipment & other facilities to companies/persons connected with the Corporation.
Functions and Activities
- Creation, development and maintenance of necessary infrastructure at Industrial Estates, Industrial Growth Centre, Industrial Area, Export Promotion Industrial Park, Mega Food Park etc.
- State Financial Corporation (Loaning operation) which includes financial assistance to set up viable projects and support transport operators – generating employment and contributing to overall state development.

- To effectively implement both the State and Central Schemes mandated as the Implementing Agency.
